Teaching Statement

Before starting graduate school, I worked as a Philosophy for Children teacher. As an instructor of philosophy, developmental psychology, and empirical research methods, I am committed to breaking down challenging materials into accessible contents and to providing a learning environment in which students feel both challenged and supported.

Teaching Experiences

  • EDU T020A: What is the Aim of Education?: Philosophical Perspectives

What is the aim of education? Why do we teach what we teach? That is, on what grounds can one argue that X is the purpose of education? This module introduces the body of literature in the contemporary philosophy of education that examines the question surrounding the aim of education. In addition to exploring the literature, in this course, students will 1) critically evaluate each philosopher’s claims; and 2) reflect on what implications each school of thought bears when it comes to education policy and practice.
